                The National Gallery of Art offers museum-wide internships and fellowships, as well as fellowships to pursue independent research. For teen and adult volunteers, the Gallery offers exciting opportunities to help visitors enjoy the nation's artistic treasures.                 There are approximately 1,000 employees working at the National Gallery of Art. While many positions require a background in art history or design, there are numerous other positions for employees involved with aspects of the Gallery's daily operations.

                Interns & Fellows

                The Gallery offers a variety of graduate-level opportunities to students who intend to pursue careers in fields related to the visual arts. CASVA supports a resident community of scholars who are conducting research in the field. Learn how to apply for internships and fellowships.

                Volunteers advance the Gallery's mission every day. Docents lead tours, information desk staffers assist visitors, and students support the education department, among other volunteer opportunities.
